Saving email credentials in Server-Side Synchronization

  • Server-Side Synchronization is a new feature in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 that can remove the need to install and run the Email Router. When configuring Server-Side Synchronization, if you are not using SSL for the CRM website the following will not work:
  • Saving email credentials in email server profiles and mailbox records
  • Entering connections to servers that do not use SSL

Access Team

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 introduces Access Teams. Access Teams work in a simlar way to Teams in earlier versions for sharing but Access Teams cannot own records or be assigned security roles.

Access Teams are created in Settings | Administration | Teams. Teams that can own records are referred to as Owner Teams. The Team entity is used for both Access Teams and Owner Teams; the Team Type field determines the type.

An Owner Team can be converted to an Access Team but not the other way round.

Business Process Flows

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 introduces Business Process Flows (BPF) which provide a way to guide users through a process that must be followed. The BPF shows fields that are relevant to the process toward the top of the form in a series of stages. Fields can be shown from just the entity or multiple entities.

BPFs are created in the process editor (Settings | Processes) or within a record.

Disable the Navigation Tour video

By default, the Navigation Tour video window appears the first time a user logs on to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 in a web browser on a device. A user can select not to see the window again by selecting Don't show me this again.

The Navigation Tour video window can be disabled in on-premises installation by setting a registry setting on servers with the Front End server role.To do this, complete the following steps.

Scheduling Reports in Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Reports in Microsoft Dynamics CRM can be configured to run on a scheduled basis from within the CRM application. For example, if a sales report is needed on a weekly basis, you can schedule the report so that it is automatically available at the required time.

Email Subscriptions

If you have Microsoft Dynamics CRM On-premises you can create an email subscription to the snapshot in SQL Reporting Services Report Manager.
