Order Product Pricing Locked

In CRM 2016 with SP1, it seems that a "bug" has been introduced where the price of an order product added from the catalog (an "existing product") cannot be changed. This was not the case in earlier versions.

A field on the Order Product form, named Pricing (internal name ispriceoverridden) determined whether the price per unit can be changed. However, on the Order Product form this field is set to read-only with a value of "Use Default"; so there is no way to change the value to "Override Price".

Help Content Server Test errors

In Microsoft Dynamics CRM On-Premises you might notice errors in the Event Viewer stating that the monitoring test failed for Help Content Server. The Event ID is 18732.

Can't import organizations in CRM 2015 with Update 0.1

It seems that there is a bug in CRM 2015 with Update 0.1 that prevents the import of organizations. If you attempt an import, the import fails with an error something like:

Could not find stored procedure ‘p_CreateAuditEntry’.

This article, lists a workaround in the comments section, which is to create two stored procedures in the MSCRM_CONFIG database.

Flashing cursor in Outlook with CRM Client

I have seen instances of the CRM client in Outlook where the cursor keeps flashing. A search revealed an unexpected fix.

  1. Create a file named Microsoft.CRM.Application.Outlook.WebFormsHost.exe.config with no content.
  2. Move the file to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Client\res\web\bin or wherever your CRM client is installed.

That's it. This I found at https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/166875

Goal Metric - Rollup Field form

The rollup field form a goal metric uses the label Source Record Type State and Source Record Type Status.

Source Record Type fields for Rollup Field

These should, I believe show Source Record Type Status and Source Record Type Status Reason to match the display names used elsewhere in the web application.

Reporting Services - Unable to connect to the remote server

I installed SQL Server 2012 Database services and Reporting Services and selected the option to configure reporting services instead of doing the configuration manually.

The installation succedeed but I noticed that Reporting Services had configured binding for port 80 and https on port 443 as well. I didn't have an SSL certificate so in Reporting Services Configuration Manager I removed the bindings for port 443 for both reports and the reports manager.

Forms showing white space only in CRM 2015

In CRM 2015, users might see empty forms (that is no fields, just white space) because of missing privileges in their security roles.

I believe this is a bug and has been discussed here https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/146641

The problem is caused by a role not including read rights to the campaign entity (this privilege should not be required).

Lookup field issues with Chrome 38

Chrome version 38 released on October 7 2014 causes errors with lookup fields on CRM 2011 and CRM 2013 forms as described in http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/3008160

The article advises using another browser until a solution is found.

Changes in Chrome and Firefox on Modal dialogs upsetting CRM

A CRM blogger, Neil McDonald has identified issues upcoming deprecations for APIs in Chrome and Firefox that break CRM functionality. The changes are mainly to do with deprecation of windows.showModalDialog. A modal dialog is a dialog box that keeps the input focus until the box is closed. While the box is open the user cannot switch windows.

Refer to Neil's article for the details.

Related records navigation not showing for records in CRM 2013

I came across an issue where the related records navigation dropdown was not showing for records with long names.

Researching the issue revealed this to be a problem with Internet Explorer 8 and fixed in Update Rollup 2.
