Order Product Pricing Locked

In CRM 2016 with SP1, it seems that a "bug" has been introduced where the price of an order product added from the catalog (an "existing product") cannot be changed. This was not the case in earlier versions.

A field on the Order Product form, named Pricing (internal name ispriceoverridden) determined whether the price per unit can be changed. However, on the Order Product form this field is set to read-only with a value of "Use Default"; so there is no way to change the value to "Override Price".

It seems that there is a bug in CRM 2015 with Update 0.1 that prevents the import of organizations. If you attempt an import, the import fails with an error something like:

Could not find stored procedure ‘p_CreateAuditEntry’.

This article, lists a workaround in the comments section, which is to create two stored procedures in the MSCRM_CONFIG database.

Flashing cursor in Outlook with CRM Client

I have seen instances of the CRM client in Outlook where the cursor keeps flashing. A search revealed an unexpected fix.

  1. Create a file named Microsoft.CRM.Application.Outlook.WebFormsHost.exe.config with no content.
  2. Move the file to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Client\res\web\bin or wherever your CRM client is installed.

That's it. This I found at https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/166875

Reporting Services - Unable to connect to the remote server

I installed SQL Server 2012 Database services and Reporting Services and selected the option to configure reporting services instead of doing the configuration manually.

The installation succedeed but I noticed that Reporting Services had configured binding for port 80 and https on port 443 as well. I didn't have an SSL certificate so in Reporting Services Configuration Manager I removed the bindings for port 443 for both reports and the reports manager.

A CRM blogger, Neil McDonald has identified issues upcoming deprecations for APIs in Chrome and Firefox that break CRM functionality. The changes are mainly to do with deprecation of windows.showModalDialog. A modal dialog is a dialog box that keeps the input focus until the box is closed. While the box is open the user cannot switch windows.

Refer to Neil's article for the details.
