When trying to install the SSRS Data Connector you may encounter the error:
“Unable to validate SQL Server Reporting Services Report Server installation”.
There are many reasons why this might happen but I came across a rather obscure one where a 32-bit SQL Server was installed on a 64-bit Windows server. It seems that this combination is not supported.
